Yes, Firefox is what I use. The program is independent of the browser.

One of the features in SpyBot Search and Destroy is the Resident S & D. If that is active, it will pop up warnings when something tries to load.

I think I broke my arm patting myself on my back, my first screen shot.
When I hit "Remove" then "Finish" it sends me back to "Scan" again. I'm spinning my wheels on this.

That number at the bottom is the running total of items found.
Since there are none listed in the main box, they are not there.

It found 5 additional ones. Just click finish and let it go for another week. Get in the habit of sweeping for this crap every week at the same time. I do mine every Friday night faithfully and rarely do I have problems.

Just because it found 5 more items isn’t necessarily bad, it is likely that means it found 5 temporary files from “recently opened files” or some similar thing. That is nothing unusual.

Just click finish and let it go for another week.I'll do that. My hair is now grayer than when I started this thread. Thank you very much for your help.
I'll start doing it once a week and make a habit out of it. Thanks again for all your help.
But hey, I learned how to do screen shots. :-)

It's a standard feature in Red Hat's Network Configuration control panel -
Too bad it doesn't work. Unfortunately, it is a common situation for Linux software in general.

Super AntiSpyware, Free Edition —
the best I have found. I used to use AdAware (free) and Spy Sweeper (pay), and would run both those, and then run this one, and it would find lots of stuff the other two never found! So I was sold on it (but didn’t have to pay anything for it — obviously the gubmint isn’t marketing it, LOL)

People who are not comfortable with command line interfaces should avoid Linux like the plague. I'm going to post this every time I see someone say what you said here:
PCLinuxOS is so easy, you don't NEED to use a command line, ever. I haven't yet. Not all Linux distros are hard.

You guys are getting slow. Up to 20 posts before the Mac attack. I don't know if it's an "attack"... it's a suggestion for a long term solution to the problem which, if history is any instructor, will recur.
