My maiden name was Bush. Dad wanted to name me Rose or Magnolia. Even through her drugged fog, Mom put a stop to THAT thank goodness, LOL!Hydrangea Bush worked out pretty well for you though, didn't it?...

Well, I do manage a Garden Center. That was inevitable.
Don’t forget to buy your Mom or yourself a “Blushing Bride” hydrangea for Mother’s Day! :)

I think Waltrout is Waltraud. Either way it beats Schmetterling (butterfly).

That was a terrible time to name a girl Lisa. There were four Lisas in my elementary school class and so many in high school that I stopped responding to my name.

FEE-MAH-LAY When asked why she picked that name, the mom said it was on the little girls wrist bracelet at the hospital. I've heard of boy and girl twins named "FEE-MAH-LAY" and "MAH-LAY" too!

I’ve heard this Oranjello/Lemonjello BS at least a dozen times, probably more. Invariably the people who speak of it are slackjawed morons.

Scary to drive with, though. White knuckles all the way!A lot of my old relatives were like that. I used to say that if Leonard people didn't die in a car accident, they lived to 110.

At her baptism there were 7 children 5 girls four Lisa’s and two Lisa Ann (on of them was my daughter). My wife didn’t want my daughter to have a “funny” nick name like Apples or Appie. Being of Sicilian descent from Newark NJ Apollonia was one heck of a name!

No Hyancinth? :) I once had a student named Forsythia. When I pronounced her name the typical way, she got totally offended.
Apparently, it was pronounced For-Suh-Tie-Ya. IMO, you spell your kids name like a common word, that's how it's going to be pronounced. Not my problem.
