then press enter.

According to his post 71 he's at the recovery Console prompt. Not where he needs to be at all. Recovery Console is no place for first timers and only supports specific commands.

Chickensoup, at the prompt you have, type in "dir" (without the quotes) then press enter. If it gives you a list of files, then type cd \windows\system32 and then run the chkdsk /r command.

Or...nevermind since it seems chkdsk is running. Good news.
