So I guess he gets as much time as he wants? He has 70 years’ worth of people to thank. ;)

I have met Cruise’s mom. On one occasion I followed her into the ladies room just to get the 411. She loved the attention of being a celeb mom and was quite chatty.

Good times ... :)

There should be a rule to prohibit oscar winners from thanking more than 3 people in their speeches.

"Edith et Marcel" was the story of Piaf's love affair with French-Algerian heavyweight boxing champ Marcel (forget the last name). The guy's real life son played his Dad's role in the film.

Any indication of whatever strange upbringing he must have had, that would lead him to his current cult?

I will never forget putting Romper Stomper in the DVD player and my husband’s astonishment that it was Crowe’s break out role

Is it just me or does John Travolta, Renee Zellweger, and Meg Ryan not have the same ooomph as Cary Grant, Bette Davis, and Rita Hayworth?

Robert Boyle is 98 years old. Wow.

Just incredible, and he walked out to the podium on his own (with a bit of assistance from the two ladies). He must have quite the resume... I like how he kept referring to Alfred Hitchcock as "Hitch".

Nope, it’s not just you. Remember for so many years they kept telling us how Jennifer Aniston was the next big huge megastar for the ages? They’re still missing more than they’re hitting.

Actually filmmaking is hard work and takes quite a bit of talent.

Oh, really, Captain Obvious? So is roofing and waitressing. Have you done any (filmmaking, that is)? I have. Without the self contratulatory part, and without the corrupt and exclusive unionizing. As for talent, you can fake it there easier than in waiting tables.

He noted 3 actresses there that were pregnant. Jessica Alba, Kate Blanchett and Nicole Kidman. The showed them all at once on a divided screen (Nicole was not shown live, only her photo) and Stewart then says, “And the baby goes to...” and opens an envelope. The “winner” was none of them, it was Angelina Jolie. That last part was supposed to be the punch line, see...oh hahahahah.
