I’ve seen all the Best Picture films with the exception of Juno. “There Will be Blood” was spellbinding. Viggo Mortensen really gave a good performance in “Eastern Provinces”. Rented “Elizabeth” last night and Blanchette is quite good, although I think Julie Christie will get the award for Dr Zivago again.
Lisa Rinna doctored face? Say it aint so..... Lots of black dresses in the slide show, did somebody die? I will tune in after the Simpsons rerun is over.
We’re having a family movie night that will include Optimus Prime Rib, Corn Ultimatum, and Live Free or Pie Hard.
Yeah I’m not looking forward to Jon Stewart, that’s for sure. They do a lot of awards, let’s see. They recently held the Director’s Guild awards, and the Golden Globes of course.. and Screen Actors Guild. The South Park guys are right about one thing: there’s a good reason they don’t call themselves the Film Actors Guild.
Juno is the only one I’ve seen and it was great.
But based purely on keeping up with the other speculation.
Daniel-Day Lewis will win Best Actor
Javier whatever for Supporting Actor
Julie Christie for Best Actress (but I’d love for Cate to win. She was shafted for the first Elizabeth movie). They love the old ladies. Especially the Brits.
Cate Blanchette for Supporting Actress (although for some reason, I can see Ruby Dee getting it)
Either No Country for Old Men or There will be Blood for movie. I don’t know anything about any of the movies except Juno, so hard to say.
LOL! I love your numbering system post, Lainie.
Thanks for the ping. I'll be on and off mostly, admitting to some nausea, yet fascinated in a train crash kind of way. Can you imagine how much money local dermatologists and fashion designers made this week?
Well, Clooney won’t win this year. So there’s one Obama speech we won’t hear.
I think I saw something like that years ago.
Oh, good, I’m glad some folks have actually seen these movies. I haven’t seen a single nominated movie except “Ratatouille.”

before and after
Her baby is only 5 months old. Cut her a little slack.
Looks like she had her nose sharpened and her lips inflated a bit.
Only if lanie cuts Lisa Rinna a little slack. This is a Hollywood Oscar thread. Meow.
bttt for later
Interesting! I’m in the process of cooking some spicy jalapeno cheddar creamed spinach to go with my steak, also.
Figured I’d save people time. :-)
Oh I bet designers & doctors make the majority of their whole year in the period between New Year’s and Oscars.
