I’ve seen all the Best Picture films with the exception of Juno. “There Will be Blood” was spellbinding. Viggo Mortensen really gave a good performance in “Eastern Provinces”. Rented “Elizabeth” last night and Blanchette is quite good, although I think Julie Christie will get the award for Dr Zivago again.
Juno is the only one I’ve seen and it was great.
But based purely on keeping up with the other speculation.
Daniel-Day Lewis will win Best Actor
Javier whatever for Supporting Actor
Julie Christie for Best Actress (but I’d love for Cate to win. She was shafted for the first Elizabeth movie). They love the old ladies. Especially the Brits.
Cate Blanchette for Supporting Actress (although for some reason, I can see Ruby Dee getting it)
Either No Country for Old Men or There will be Blood for movie. I don’t know anything about any of the movies except Juno, so hard to say.
Oh, good, I’m glad some folks have actually seen these movies. I haven’t seen a single nominated movie except “Ratatouille.”
My picks:
BP: No country for old men
Director: Coen Brothers
Actor: Daniel Day Lewis of course
Actress: Julie Christie for Dr. Z again
Supporting: Either Ruby Dee or Cate (Ruby will probably get the sentimental vote)
SA: Javier Bardem - No Country for Old Men
Ratatouie best animated
Probably that idiot mm for his sicko
All in all a boring Oscar year
Maybe Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie will have a fistfight
