Have we seen the end of "Smilin' Bob" commercials? I think so -- but it will take more to end the onslaught of these types of commercials from prime-time television.
Clearly, this trial shows that TV will take money from obvious frauds and debase their programming, if the money is green.
It takes a Federal prosecution, apparently, to stop this. But don't the TV stations accepting the advertising incur some civil liability here as well? Don't they have SOME duty not to participate in an obvious fraud?

XM satellite radio has about 10 “male enhancement” ads on per hour. If they outlaw them, I guess XM will be caught short...

I thought the one with SMilin Bob as Santa and all the ladies lined up to sit on his lap was the worst in taste.

I'm beginning to suspect that the TV is part of that MSM/DBM that Rush occasionally refers to.

A link, date and source are all required for each published article posted. Unfortunately, the second article you posted without link or source turns out to be a complete article from a Gannett site. It will have to be removed.

I just find it hard to believe that anyone would actually believe this stuff could work, let alone that there are enough idiots to let Smilin’ Bob bilk them for $100 million while employing 1500 people. There truly is a sucker born every minute.

If television stations had to stand behind their advertisers, there would be a lot of dead air, or cable, come infomercial time.
They’re under the impression that their “disclaimer” is their get out of jail free card.
Anyhow, you have to hand it to “Bob”, getting his mom to go down for the company.
