I wouldn’t get hopes up. The complexity of the immune system probably beats out the complexity of economics, as far as predicting what will happen.
Just a short time ago I noticed that in just one relationship between what you would think is just a simple cause—effect relationship between two variables, it is anything but.
In this case ‘A’ causes ‘B’.
But ‘A’ also modifies ‘B’ in several potential ways.
Then ‘A’ also moderates ‘B’s function.
And ‘A’ also limits ‘B’s function.
And ‘A’ also inhibits ‘B’s function.
And ‘A’ also stops ‘B’s function.
And finally, ‘A’ also destroys ‘B’.
In other words, anything *but* a simple relationship between two variables. And that was just one, two variable relationship. The immune system has HUNDREDS of such variables, many of which are as complex with each other as these two.
Replace A & B with Hillary and Barack............
