Think I’ll watch “The Fifth Element” this evening.

We need a good remake of that Rowdy Roddy Piper classic...”They Live” Especially that overly drawn out fight scene where he gets the guy to look through the glasses.

I’m thinking Will Smith and Martin Lawrence could duplicate this as lead roles. Pick whatever glamour babe you want as the girl who takes him back to her house, and then a bunch of liberals could play the “THEY” roles. Saves on makeup in the case of Nancy Pelosi....

Only if you make me a Sargent and charge the booze.

Did you ever notice in the old films from the 50s-60s, that at the first sign of trouble, one or more of the characters will pull a gun from his pocket or glove box? This says to me that it wasn’t unusual for men to walk around like that in those days.

A remake of “Them” was in the planning stages, and at one time Joe Johnston was slated to direct, but it never happened.

I consider THEM one of the best sci-fi films ever, yet I shutter to see what Hollywood would do to the classic.

Remember it was 1954 when Dr. Harold Medford said, "When Man entered the atomic age, he opened a door into a new world. What we'll eventually find in that new world, nobody can predict."

So you can imagine 2008's Hollywood version having the good Doc (Played by Algore or Jane Fonda) saying, "The two Bush Presidencies and the work of the evil Republicans have caused this calamity. We must kill all of 'them,' then kill all the Republicans before we are safe!"

I can only dread what Hollywood and Keanu Reeves will do with this year's remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still

Just remember what they did to Heinlein's Starship Troopers... and be afraid. Be very afraid!
