Well, it looks like John McCain will be the presidential nominee for the Republican Party. Mike Huckabee is hanging in there, but he does not really have a shot. Many true conservatives do not like McCain, and for good reason: He is not a conservative!! He co-sponsored the McCain-Feingold bill, which puts limits on free speech during an election. He attacks Republicans any chance he gets. He loves the liberal media fawning all over him, and so often goes against his party to get those rave reviews from the New York Times, etc. He believes in global warming, and wants to use goverment restrictions and regulations to enforce lifestyle and economic changes that would hurt the average American, but probably would not do much about global warming. In short, McCain is a liberal in Republican clothing. It should be interesting to see what happens over the next several months. McCain is good at attracting Democrats and independents. But will he get the Republican base? Will conservatives hold their noses in November and vote for him anyway? Anyone is better than Hillary or Obama, right? We shall see.
I’d rather face the enemy head on than letting him have my back.
He’s not getting my vote. There’s no sense in having four more years of Republican hate. Let the RATS have it and be on the recieving end for a while. Come ‘12 perhaps enough of the nation will have woken up.

not that tired old crap. McCains the most liberal Republican in the senate. got trot you numbers elsewhere. Im not drinking the coolaid.
It's a little hard to see him, through all the illegal immigrants.
You win!!!!! :^)
Not that it matters - Huckabee's no better.
Yeah, I know, I can’t stand John McCain either. He is so not a conservative!! But what do we do in November??? McCain is probably going to be the nominee. Don’t vote at all?? I guess that is always an option. But remember your representatives, and other local leaders. My Congressman is Scott Garrett, a good conservative, and I will go to the polls in November to at least vote for him. Unfortunately, I think Obama will be our next president. God help us all!!
No, you are right, Huckabee is no better than McCain!
McCains the most liberal Republican in the senate.
He is the most liberal Republican in the senate that is running for President. An 83% Conservative rating is allot higher that the democrat senators of 9%(Hillary) or 8% (Obama).
got trot you numbers elsewhere.
This is a place to discuss the place to discus the political issues facing our nation. It is on topic with the thread that asking what Conservatives think of McCain. I gave the American Conservative Union's opinion. Who are you to tell me not to post those numbers here? They were relevant to the discussion. If you disagree, talk issues with me, not sophomoric flames and Clichés.
You don’t have to vote for president. Just leave it blank if you feel it would go against your principles.
I’m conflicted here in Texas with how my voice can be heard.
Obama to kill Hillary’s chances or Huckabee to send McQueeg a *dear John* letter.
McCain is a liberal democrat....period....
The only reason he is running as a Republican is because he couldn’t get on the Democrat ticket....
He is no better than Clinton...
And I for one, will NOT vote for him, I will write in before I will lower my standards to vote for a RINO....
Having read the posts (18 so far), and listened to Ann and Rush (both of whom I love, along with most of the posters on FR), I think you all, including Rush and Ann, have lost your marbles.
There is only one candidate to vote for in November and that is McCain.
If you sit out, you get Hillary or Obama.
If you write in someone else, you get Hillary or Obama.
If you vote, holding your nose, you get McCain, and at least someone who will defend our country.
No I don’t like McCain-Feingold. Stupidist piece of legislation ever offered.
I don’t like a lot of things McCain has done, but he is not a freaking Democrat/Socialist.
Get a grip folks. Including you, Rush and you too, Ann.
But, hey, what do I know...a lot of you, on principle, voted for Perot and we got 8 years of Clinton, Reno and Albright, and now we face the prospect of at least 4 more of Hillary or possibly Obama, who could be worse than Carter.
Oh yeah, and we turned our backs on Ford and got that pious peanut farmer.
DANG!
