Most ulcers about 80% are caused by the colonization of the stomach with the bacteria H. Pylori..

Stomachs make acid, it’s part of the digestion process.

When the bacteria colony disrupts the mucus protective layer. The acid starts digesting your stomach.

Needs proper antibiotic and acid pump inhibitor..

Needs further investigation because up to 20% of ulcers can be beginning of a malignancy.

I have no idea what a pump inhibitor is--one was not prescribed for me. I'm being treated by an Internal Medicine doctor.

Like I said, the prescribed treatment seems to be working for me. I was told that if the condition is not completely gone after 2 wks treatment, then you must take the drugs for another 2 wks.
