From Wikipedia:
His best known run was with partner George Becker in the Mid-Atlantic (Carolinas, Virginia) in the 1960s. The two held the NWA Mid-Atlantic Southern Tag Team Championship five times together,[1] and they were household names in the territory for a period of nearly 8 years. The team had memorable feuds with Swede Hanson and Rip Hawk, Lars and Gene Anderson, Gene and Ole Anderson, Aldo Bogni and Bronko Lubich, the Infernos with manager J. C. Dykes, and many others.
Sweet childhood is flashing back! rip Isn't Swede Hanson Ric Flair's uncle? The Infernos were the nastiest guys on TV in those days.

When I was a kid back in the 70’s, I had the pleasure of meeting Lars Anderson at a restaurant in Marietta, GA.

I thought it was Verne Gange that did the sleeper hold.

I thought Gagne and others used it earlier too.
