Good morning everyone.

A couple of guys made from tape
hitching a ride -they're trying to escape
one pointing a finger in the direction to go
the other tape guy-well he doesn't know
his right hand from his left
sooooo, he go along for the ride
don'tcha just know!

It's snowing out now, trees are flocked in beautiful white.
A natural thing, yes it's all right!
I have no mountains to climb today
so I'll stay in and on my lovely, soft, warm couch,
and drift in and out of sleep
it's a wont for me today, to play and sleep
to dream of lofty dwellings made from clouds
and take a swing at daylight star gazin'
....and maybe sing out loud.

Poem written for a story I’m working on:

I heard the seagulls,
I heard the seagulls crying
I heard them calling
as I walked the winding road,

Looking up I saw
White snow upon the mountain,
Tall the white mountain
The land of the cold country.

Beyond the mountain,
Past the cold country so white,
My love waits by night
By the seashore just for me.

In other news, my halloween poem Shiver Woman Shiver won in a small contest for short pieces (some prose, some poetry).

My fascination for modified Japanese poetry forms evidently continues.

But I did write something, a retelling of part of the recent story in heroic couplets. I had to put in a twist at the end, cause I just couldn’t stand the thought of me writing something that formal without it being humorous:

Out of the blood red fog it came,
A scent, a memory, a cherished name
Piercing the spell-bound heart inside,
His aching soul that keened and cried
Over beloved blood he spilled,
Beloved one he thought he killed —
His grief did give the spider joy,
And left his form to be a toy.

And yet he knew that scent and voice —
A light within bloomed to rejoice,
The spider’s webs began to shred.
He heard her voice – she was not dead!
He caught her as she tumbled down,
The spectre lurched, began to frown.
How could he break the spider’s spell
That was to bring their souls to hell?

The lovers gazed there, eye to eye,
Red locked on gray, a soft-breathed sigh.
A sword would hold the spectre fast
As brother cut the cord at last
That would begin the spider’s doom
As bright pink light began to bloom —
A stubborn, black-haired little lass
For love would kick Naraku’s a$$.

There was a man named Ice
Who knocked off crooks in a thrice.
He made short works
of really bad jerks.
While good folks all though him nice.
