My first dog was a Beagle, an absolutely charming character, but one who was far more interestd in following his nose than an person. All my others hve been Labs or Lab crosses; they're a lot more pople oriented. Beagles think a lot like cats.

Beagles think a lot like cats.I have a beagle mix and aside from the fact that he loves human company, he acts so much like a cat sometimes it's freaky.

I'd never been terribly fond of dogs, but years ago, I lived on a farm with some nice folks who owned several Cavalier King Charles spaniels. One in particular was charming, and I enjoyed that dog's company very much.
