My first posting - think I've done everything right but if not, feel free to delete, move, whatever's appropriate.
Came across this site of a firm making 20mm rifles amongst others and found that here in the UK, they're still legal. OK,OK, it would entail me moving house because the ranges at which I could shoot one are 100miles+ away and I would have to spend a lot of my savings and I'm currently in between jobs, so not currently feasible. But the prospect of owning one did cross my mind...and they are tempting...
Anyone own one of these/similar? What are they like to own/shoot?

Good heavens. You could put your eye out with that thing.Or, at the very least, simply detatch your retinas with the recoil. Looks fun!

Mac1, why don’t ya just move to this side of the pond. Of course, you might be needed there to defend the fort in the not-too-distant future, if you know what I mean! - with all those (ahem) “peace-loving” immigrants moving in!
Actually, I’d try to find a way to move the 100 miles up near that shooting range and buy that gun! :-)

I’ll play Devil’s Advocate.
For what reason would anybody possibly need one of these.

For comparison purposes the middle one is .50 cal bmg the one to the right of it is a KPV 14.5x114 and the other two big ones are 23mm. The extreme right is a 23x152mm ZSU round.

I remember back in my teens years the catalog: Ye Old Hunter offered the original Lahti 20mm on skis for $99.95. Ammo was $2.50 a round which was expensive back them. My folks blocked the idea as I was already making enough noise.

Mac1 ~ it's hard to believe that the U.K. has passed laws that prohibit or strictly control all private ownership of firearms.
I purchased one of these a couple of months ago, I guess that you wouldn't be able to own one of these in the U.K.?

Try a .460 Weatherby Magnum on for size. I have heard of shooters receiving permanent injury from the recoil. I shot one once, that was enough.

Most of the injuries to shooters caused by recoil are, in fact, eye injuries.
