A Plea to Huckabee Supporters (Vanity)

Let me first say that I am a born-again evangelical conservative voter who initially liked Huckabee even though I didn’t believe he was electable. However, the more I looked at Huckabee, the more I realized that his record as Governor didn’t really back what he was now championing. That is when I took a second look at Romney. I remember first being impressed with him when I saw him give his speech at the Olympics. Of course, I, like many of you, was concerned about Romney’s Pro-Life conversion and wondered how it would play to the masses. I remembered watching one of his debates when he was running for Governor and thinking that it was too bad that he wasn’t Pro-Life. Well, now he is and let me remind some of you that Ronald Reagan was at one time Pro-Choice. Then there is the part about Romney being Mormon. I was brought up being taught that Mormonism was a cult and that they were all going to hell. After reading some of the messages from the Huckabee supporters it is clear that a lot of them still believe this. As I’ve grown older I have come to the realization that it is not my duty to send people to hell. I personally have never met a Mormon that wasn’t a decent honest god-fearing citizen. I can assure you there are a lot of stories that the MSM is sitting on until McCain wins the nomination. It is my view that John McCain has no chance of winning in November and I do not believe he will do as well as Bob Dole did. If you recall, Dole was leading in the Polls at this stage. As for Huckabee, it is clear he is trying to help McCain. Maybe he has been promised something or maybe he just loves being in the spotlight. Either way, if McCain wins the nomination, the Republican base will blame him. Our only chance of stopping Hillary or Obama is to somehow convince Huckabee supporters to see the light as I have. A vote for Huckabee at this point is a vote for Liberalism.

“We find Mitt has more Biblical values and principles than those bigits, Huckabee and Mc Shamnesty and they CLAIM to be “Christians”.

Agreed.

“MH is a big government born again Christian”

No. You confuse Christianity with humanism. Mike is no Christian. He simply wears “religion” on his sleeve as a self righteous weapon but doesn’t practice it personally.

Mike does Christianity a dis service with his leftist leanings and hypocrisy.

First off, I am a born again Evangelical Christian who was born and raised in the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (RLDS) who also follow Joseph Smith. I now view Joseph Smith as a false prophet and the Mormon church as a cult. HOWEVER, I would have no problem voting for a Mormon for President as I am not electing a Pastor, I am electing a government official.

However, my vote is for Mike Huckabee and will remain so.

ALL the candidates are flawed this year. ALL have flipped on some conservative issues and are pandering to the base.

I, personally, am a social conservative first. The most important issues to me are the Second Amendment, Right to Life, traditional marriage, and family values. So I choose to vote for the candidate that has been loyal to those issues and flipped on others such as taxes and immigration. Instead of the candidate that has been loyal to other issues and flipped on mine.

I NEED conservative justices and judges. I NEED them. I can't risk that NEED on a flipper.

For that reason alone, I would vote for McCain before I would vote for Romney. As McCain too has been more loyal on my issues than Mitt.

Can McCain be trusted? Hell no! But he is more trustworthy than Mitt on social issues.

One more thing about Romney and abortion. He has historically bragged that his mother ran in Michigan for the Senate as a "pro-choice Republican." Read that again. He has historically bragged that his mother ran in Michigan for the Senate as a "pro-choice Republican."

Romney did not become pro-abortion to run for office in Taxachusetts, he already was pro-abortion! He only became pro-life to run for President. Get it? He is NOT pro-life!

Finally, calling any of our candidates "liberals" is poppycock and calls into question the integrity of the person saying it. ALL our candidates are primarily conservative, just not as conservative as we would want them to be.

You want liberal? You need look no further than Clinton or Obama. McCain is Goldwater compared to either of them.

No I am sorry nmh, it is not up to you to determine whether someone who says they are born again and calls Christ as Lord is a liar.

Only God knows a mans heart.

There are plenty of born again big government Christians out there. For whatever reason they have abdicated the care of the “least of these” from the church to the government.

That is not humanism.
