See that’s where I went wrong...I assumed the guy was reputable since he was a pak ranger who claimed to have studied wolves and all, and seemed like he knew what he was talking about. Seems I was incorrect. Looks like I need to start double checking these things.

I would not have responded so bluntly, if at all, if I'd seen some of the other replies before posting. Some of them were more personally insulting than critical about the topic.
One question comes to mind about the debate in general, though. What knowledge do we have of fertile areas that were completely lacking in animal husbandry by humans? There are some interesting old accounts of visitors in areas that were only sparsely populated by humans, though.
