If you follow the link it was from a 2002 study. I thought this year the elk in Yellowstone were down from 19,500 to 5000? As one park ranger put it We know the wolves are effecting the elk population.

The wolf advocates point out that the reduction in elk has allowed certain species of trees to return. Oh joy. The Canadian wolves introduced into the area weigh 120+ lbs. The native wolves that once roamed Idaho weighed 45-60 lbs.

The largest thing I hunted in San Diego was cotton tail rabbits. I'm well set up with firearms from 17M2 to S&W 500 Mag. Sadly, there little to shoot other than my paper targets and steel spinners.
