Based on what I just learned about Daniel Edwards at this website, my guess is the Barbaro statue is not a joke.

Do you think horses have any idea what all the fuss is about? “Man, they open this gate thing, then I run as fast as I can, then they tell me to stop, put wierd stuff over my neck and kiss me...”

Oh my gosh. I know people had a stong feelings for this animal, but sheesh, IT’S A HORSE - A DEAD HORSE - not a freaking war hero or something.

They absolutely do! The best ones understand the whole process and revel in it. Training technique is very important so as not to dishearten a good one by it losing, especially in a head-to-head. Some of them will run their own race regardless of what the jockey does.

I know people had a stong feelings for this animal, but sheesh, ITS A HORSE - A DEAD HORSE - not a freaking war hero or something. If you read the article, he's not being treating as a war hero... This is not a memorial or an honor. Apparently the statue will be a form of protest of the racing industry, with the horse on his back.

Its animal abuse. Nonsense.
Of course animals can be abused in any walk of life. But few creatures live as good and fulfilling a life as a professional athlete, be they animal ~or~ human. They certainly don't need anyone's pity.

I think this “protest” is revolting.

I guess in art, if you can’t be good, be offensive.
To: Obadiah
My bad, I read it wrong. It’s even more odious is the goobers are hijacking his image. Lawsuit?
