I want to go back to DC!!

Me too! I would love to be able to go the end of March for the Cherry Blossom Festival. As I recall, it is about the prettiest time of year to visit DC.

I remember these beautiful cherry trees from when my dad was stationed at the Pentagon. They were young then, so was I. LOL.

Loveliest of trees, the cherry now
Is hung with bloom along the bough,
And stands about the woodland ride
Wearing white for Eastertide.

Now, of my threescore years and ten,
Twenty will not come again,
And take from seventy springs a score,
It only leaves me fifty more.

And since to look at things in bloom
Fifty springs are little room,
About the woodlands I will go
To see the cherry hung with snow.

That is a lovely picture, Lori.

Reliving our trip made me want to see DC again. I don’t think Jim will be interested in another Inaugural Ball but maybe we can convince him to have a “Crying-in-Our-Beer” party next January. : ^ )

As Marissa looked at all of the pictures, she asked if we could go again. Even she enjoyed the memories.

Crimson Kiss

Ah, the maiden pure in the spring of year,
With her pale creamy blushing smile,
Serves to hide the strength that will come in time,
And the growth that will take a short while.

For it seems but only a moment,
From the blush to the swelling growth,
As the ardent lover wings away,
But results are the action of both.

The purity of her clothing,
Will be shed when necessity reigns,
And the sweet, sharp kiss of crimson,
Is the gift of the lovers’ pains.

That is such a lovely scene...I have been to Washington, but haven’t been to see the Cherry Blossoms....it must be lovely in person as the pictures are so pretty!

Gotta go get a birthday present!
