Yes I agree. Get the MAC and install Windows on it with Boot camp. You decide if you want the laptop or the desktop. But since the MAC will run VISTA perfectly with boot camp, it makes no sense to buy anything else. In fact, the MACBOOK Pro was recently named the fastest windows laptop ever.

If you want to play around with MAC OS, it will always be there. For many, Windows is just too complicated and they love the lack of choices the MAC gives them. Everything has a cute name, and the whole thing runs just great. There is no confusing two button mouse (way too hard to figure out for that hippie guy on their TV commercials). Only that disheveled nerd guy could handle an extra button right?

One word of advice, get the biggest hard drive you can because the installation of two operating systems uses a lot of room.

Don’t worry about trying to figure out about Boot camp, because it is easy as pie, just like everything else on MAC O/S.

You are absolutely right... the Mac has no confusing two button mouse. Instead, the Mac ships with a five button scroll ball mouse. Plus you can simply plug in almost any input device of your choice and it simply is recognized and works... including trackballs, multibutton mouses, drawing pads, and touchpads.

The laptops come with multitouch trackpads that are a joy to use. Single button but depending on the number of fingers you use and how you use them, does everything a multibutton scroll wheel mouse does. The new Macbook Air does even more with its oversized gesture enabled trackpad.

Or, the system should be able to boot Boot Camp off an external Firewire drive. Get Firewire 800 and you won't notice the difference between an internal or external drive since it is faster than what almost all single SATA hard drives can do anyway.

Bootcamp is what has sold me on getting a Mac.
