I had a 1967 Forumula S Barracuda and though it beat Vettes in races, never had a feeding frenzy less than 27mpg.

Forumula S Barracuda

I saw one of those once while snorkelling. It was about 5' long, looked mean.......really mean........and was perched staring at a certain sharkette who was innocently floating in the clear waters above.

Just caught sight of your photos, Sweets. You didn’t disappoint...great pictures! That buck is just beautiful! And that nice narrow bridge....where does that lead to? Is that an island on the other side?
I’m so glad you were able to get away from work, if only for a little while. From the looks of your pictures I’d say it did you a world of good. So peaceful....:)

Ever see some of the surfer girls?
To the eyes of a wandering wraith, some of them are model quality.

But getting whacked in the head with a surf board doesn’t appeal to me, so I don’t ask.

The bridge is the dam crossing. The trail goes around the lake and crosses the dam. It winds around through the woods, but never too far from the banks of the lake. Very nice trail.

Sharkette examples to make the surfers turn their heads? See post # 4159 on the linked page. One is the Ladylakeshark, the other DIL. Definite barracuda potential: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/chat/1960310/posts?q=1&;page=4151

Ahhh yes, the beautiful ladies of the lake! They look harmless enough until they lure you in with their beautiful smiles and get you under their spell. Then they turn you into a hopelessly lame-for-life shark, right Gramps? ;)

Sarahcuda is doing quite well with the bounce in the polls. Here is a bit of a run down on the smears she has endured in 10 days. This while all the newsies knew about and didn’t report the truth for two years on John Edwards: http://pajamasmedia.com/blog/separating-palin-fact-from-palin-fiction/

Yippeeeee! I have power again... electrical power that is.... meaning sweet and blissful a/c

So far, my street is the only one with power in my 'hood' and the only one that has been cleared of the worst of the storm debris. There is only one entrance/exit to the neighborhood so we were all sorta held hostage by dozens and dozens of fallen, mangled trees and tangled power lines for a few days.

The storm hit us about noontime on Monday but the wind and rain continued to be a problem all day on Tuesday and for most of Wednesday. One neighbor two streets over from me lost their house and three cars to fallen trees. I was very fortunate, my yard was completely covered with limbs and branches but that was really the extent of the damage for me. Ditto for my sister who lives in a similarly designed neighborhood although they did have a utility pole snap in half and fall over the fence into her back yard. The power company estimates that it will be another 7 to 14 days before power is completely restored for them.

65% of this city lost power prompting an 8pm to 6am curfew but that has been loosened a bit, its now, 10pm to 6am. The curfew has been a real help even if we did look like an occupied city at times. Our local law enforcement was re-enforced by National Guard troops in Humvees helping to patrol some of the usual troublesome areas. First, nothing was open so where could you go except out of town or to jail for violating curfew. Second, it cleared the streets that looked like obstacle courses of gawkers and allowed the repairmen to work more efficently.

Thanks to everyone who posted your good wishes. :) You are mighty sweet and much appreciated.
