I wish I could feign interest, Darlin. I’ve always loved the gymnastics part of it. But right now, China has me so peed off about how they handled the whole thing (not to mention all the cheap garbage they sell here) that I just can’t bring myself to watch. I hope it’s the lowest rated Olympics in history. That’s what they deserve.

I enjoy the gymnastics, too, I also like many of the track and field events, ditto for the diving competitions, the equestrian events, tennis, sailing and this year I might even enjoy watching our basketball team. IMHO, the Olympics should not be about politics. Nitwit Carter subscribed to that theory and ruined a once in a lifetime opportunity for many young Americans. So, for these two weeks, I’m not concerned with how China has or has not comported themselves up to now, although that is a valid point. However, I sure do care a lot about all our athletes. Many of whom, along with their parents, have sacrificed, worked and dreamed of this moment for most of their lives. I think they deserve our support.

You’ve made a great point, Darlin’. This is a lifelong dream of our athletes and they deserve all the support they can get.
Maybe I’ll peek in on the gymnastics after all. I hope the Americans kick butt in all the competitions!

Good for you LOL We should do a fair amount of the “kickin” and medal collecting this year but China is going to give us a real run for it in some sports.
So, on a more important note, who is going to win the SEC this year?
I feel sorry for the Chinese athletes that lose. They’ll probably be flogged and banished....and I ain’t kidding.
