Nice Pictures.

We’re vacationing in Zion’s national park, USA, 6 days now. Go home tomorrow.

Is your home still standing, or did they put a road through in your absence?

Sweets - I’m sorry you’ve been so sick! I hope you are on the road to recovery real soon!

I’m still in Tucson, closing up my Dad’s place. (He passed away Friday (Feb. 15) - after major surgery and a month long illness.) I haven’t been online very much, either.

Get better gurl. ;-)

Training arena in the hippodrome of Maisons-Laffitte, Yvelines, France

The hippodrome of Maisons-Laffitte, near Paris, boasts one of the largest equestrian training centers in France, with tracks and stables that accommodate close to 800 horses. In the training arenas-shown here is the Adam arena-the grooms exercise the young horses and prepare them for jumping obstacles before allowing them to run the practice rink and racetracks.

The hippodrome of Maisons-Laffitte hosts more than 250 races each year, featuring a total of close to 3,000 contestants. Horse races account for a considerable portion of the gambling industry: more than $100 billion is bet on racehorses throughout the world each year; nearly half that sum, $44 billion, is placed by the Japanese.

Not landscaping - just the arena, and those furrows are caused when it is raked to keep it even. It is just soft footing for the horses.

I mmust admit it does look much larger than it is in reality.

Sorry to hear you’ve been sick, Sweets. I hope you’re on the mend now. I’ve been sick a lot this winter, too, and I rarely ever get sick! Anyway, I hope you’re feeling better - we miss you!

Until it is harvested, this field will be marked with a cross showing that it is a GM (genetically modified) crop.

Greenpeace activists carved out the marking, visible from the sky, to protest against a decision in the French courst which forbade them to publishing the location of fields of GM maize on their website. They can´t show it on a map so they will show it on the land.

A PowerPoint Presentation with music.

Sorry LJ this one is set up to advance automatically - I should have changed it. Anyway, if you want any of the pics I will extract them for you and they will be larger than you can copy them.

It is in Spanish but translation is not needed.
