That point is spot on. They had more talent, style and class in their little finger than today’s stars have in their whole bodies. Being part of the greatest generation they also, regardless of their political leanings, had a level of patriotism that even the most conservative of us would be proud of. During the war many put their careers on hold so they could serve the cause of freedom, some of them like Glenn Miller and Carole Lombard loosing their lives while on tour supporting the troops or raising fund raising.
They will never be forgotten and will always be a part of my film library.

Obviously never one to take a no for an answer Grant pursued her across two continents and also proposed marriage. But she rejected him.

That is an old rumor started by jealous men. There was never any evidence of it. Chevy Chase, the typical uber-liberal, tried to rekindle the slander.
And the Gay Archives (where they claim they have “proof” that most US Presidents were gay, etc) has perpetuated the rumor.
Don’t give credence to the Gay Archives and idiots like Chevy Chase by perpetuating this rumor.

Actually, for someone who is still 20 something (for a few months longer), my movie faves are somewhat abnormal.

She was incredibly beautiful in her youth. And she has aged gracefully - still can turn heads.

LOL! I don't think I would have done the same thing had I had Cary Grant hounding me (OTOH, she probably had lots of guys falling all over her). Different strokes...

It was never established, just rumored. It was probaly inevitable for such a gorgeous man.

Funny...he definitely was one who did the earliest experiments with LSD but the gay rumors overshadow that for some reason. Btw...the man was/is my hero regardless of and BS hearsay. He was an acrobat who travelled England and the world who met Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks on a ship travelling to the states. That’s how he got into Hollywood and was the pinnacle of humor, wit, character and class. What a contrast to the losers in Tinseltown nowadays.

I would believe that 'ol Kev (as do I---but my favs are Padron Anniversarios from Nicaragua) loves a good cigar, but buds with Castro??? Say it isn't so!
