LOS ANGELES -- Lindsay Lohan is about to see dead people.
The 21-year-old actress will soon be working at a morgue as part of her punishment for misdemeanor drunken driving, her attorney, Blair Berk, told a judge Thursday.
She has also spent two months in rehabilitation and has done some community service, Berk said at a hearing on her progress toward fulfilling the terms of her plea bargain.
Her two four-hour days at the morgue are part of a court-ordered program to show drivers the real-life consequences of drinking and driving. She must also spend two days working in a hospital emergency room.
Lohan was arrested twice last year on DUI charges and pleaded guilty in August to misdemeanor drunken driving and cocaine charges. She has already served 84 minutes in jail as part of the plea deal.
Lohan was not required to appear at Thursday's hearing.
Actually I think it is a great way to spend her community service, she might actually get a clue.
84 minutes? Is that a typo?
A whopping 84 minutes? Wow! They really threw the book at her.
Nope, thats all she served.
I think mopping up the blood on the floors of an emergency room in the inner city would be a better form of community service to help her get a clue.
She has to do that too for a couple of days.
I have several recovering alcoholics in my family. I know that alcoholism and mental health whether bi-polar or depression has been in my family back at least three generations on pretty much all sides so I’m pretty sure that there is a genetic component. We all have really high IQs too which seems to be a link sort of thing. I also have one son still in the performing business, one who used to be and a dear nephew in Los Angeles trying to make it as an actor. So I pray for these people. Its a meat grinder out there and anyone who enjoys a good movie or TV show should pray for all the lost souls, successful or not who are damaged.
Nope. And you thought Paris got a lenient sentence...
What these judges don’t understand about the addicts is that sometimes it takes some hard time to get their attention... sort of like the mule and the two by four.

working at the morgue may become her new fulltime job, since it was reported that she’s on a lot of lists of better actors and actresses as being someone they refuse to work with, and also, she may be running out of money and needs the work:

Oh, she can hook up again with Britney there.
The morgue? That’s good. She can visit her career.
Oh, I'm sure she'll bounce back.
I hope at some point I’m going to get sick of looking at that.
Somebody at that paper was having a little fun with this sentence, IMHO.
Why do Hollywood people get these crazy punishments? Why aren’t they fined and/or thrown in jail? What are the chances that any ordinary person running afoul of the law would be so sentenced? Enough already!
Hypnotic...isn’t it?
I just spent 84 minutes looking at that.
