here is a comprehensive study done by one of our own Freepers. Thompson is the TOP CONSERVATIVE on the top ten issues. McCain and Huckabee are on the bottom......
If he's not, among the top 5, then who is?
Clearly, Thompson isn't perfect - no one was, is or ever will be, not even Ronaldus Maximus. But Thompson is the least bad of the 5 from the standpoint of conservatism.
Huckabee is a social conservative who is a tax-and-spend liberal on economic issues, a nanny-stater and a complete novice on foreign affairs.
Romney is fairly conservative on economic issues, and that's about it. He's also a novice on foreign affairs, anti-gun, pro-abortion, pro-homosexual marriage and soft on illegals.
McCain is hardly worth discussing. Yes, he's a war hero - and I thank G-d that we had and have men like him for fighting wars. But "war hero" ain't on the ballot. He's pro-illegals, anti-1st Amendment, pro-socialized medicine, anti-tax cuts, and is WAY too friendly with libs like Kennedy.
Rudy - fuhgeddaboudit. He'd be good in the War on Terror and that's about it. I don't trust him at all.
That's IT. That's the field this year. Choose the least bad candidate, as none of them is 100% conservative.
Oh, and remember to vote in November for any of these 5 in order to keep the Dems out of the White House. The struggle between these 5 is a family matter; November is a struggle with the internal enemies of this nation.

You should be banned. You spam this crap in almost every Fred Thompson topic. Why not espouse the benefits of your candidate instead of acting like the attack dog for Huckabee. You do a disservice to your candidate with your dirty politics.
And if Fred isn't even close to being a real Conservative, then all the other candidates (except Duncan Hunter) are flaming liberals who wear hot pink underwear!

Sure, he makes some good points about the GOP betraying conservative principles, but he sent out an e-mail yesterday saying how he’s still “uncommitted”, but yet promoted his new website, UltimateRonPaul.com.
I e-mailed Viguerie about talking about Duncan Hunter as another real conservative in the race...not holding my breath for a response.
And unlike, McLame, Bush, Huckabee, Giuliani, Thompson calls his support a mistake, and is campaigning to rescind it.
