ROFL. Isn't that whole "wedding registry" thing disgusting?
That's something that I don't think even the Clintons would try.
I don't know how Huckabee thought that was an honest, Christian thing to do.
I always thought it was ‘you can polish a turd, but it’s still a turd.’
:)
What's the scoop on that?
Rush is NEVER wrong!
Um, ok...
*Sniff* Not sure what you’re trying to say here, but maybe I’ll know by tomorrow, when your actual sign-up date arrives. In any case, welcome to FR and enjoy your stay, however long it may be.
Therefore we should treat him worse than a newbie. ;)
Glad you asked. Quoting from the link I posted above:
The Huckabees set up wedding registries at local department stores as Mike was leaving office even though they had been married for 30 years. State ethics laws prohibited Huckabee from receiving gifts of more than $100 but there was an exception for wedding gifts.
Is that about the most pathetic thing you've ever heard of? Sure, it's not a capital offense, but it does give you a peek into what a phoney this guy is.
SPAM.
Mike *uckabee is no Reagan conservative.
He’s just a charlatan exploiting the decent Christian faith in others for his own power and aggrandizement. That makes him an Antichrist.
The only people falling for it are those who wear Christianity on their sleeves but not in their hearts.
Wow. Just wow.
Was today your first time listening to Rush?
That was an incredible first post.
Good luck.
How’s this?

“Spunky is an operative from another campaign whose primary function is to quell the flood of homeschoolers switching to the Huckabee camp. She’ll say anything to achieve her goal, and seems to use Mitt Romney’s talking points to get her through.
She had a fairly credible homeschool blog that has since gone to seed because of crazy political content she has posted in her effort to trash Huckabee. People in the homeschool movement are beginning to Google her site to see if the “homeschool” content is actually her own or if it is borrowed from “real” homeschool sites. Don’t bother.... She is for real — or at least she was at one time. Besides, bogus sites are usually fairly new and do not have “valid” content.
Spunky’s site has a lot of stuff from Ned Ryun, a disgruntled former employee of the homeschool advocacy group, HSLDA. He’s feeding her anti-Huckabee and anti-HSLDA stuff to support her effort to turn homeschoolers. HSLDA is the leading homeschool advocacy group and their PAC, which Ryun headed until he left HSLDA endorsed Huckabee. Part of the dispute is that 1) the rest of the PAC leadership did not consult Ryun before endorsing Huckabee and 2) they did not tell Ryun until after the endorsement was announced. Those are valid complaints, but he has piled on much more “personal” stuff that calls his motives into question — is it about whether or not the endorsement should have been made, or is it just a personal vendetta against Mike Farris, the HSLDA president? It probably doesn’t matter to Spunky and her group. For now, Mr. Ryun is a useful idiot and he is serving Mitt Romney’s purposes — probably without even realizing it.
Obviously, Spunky has not read any of Huckabee’s positions or consulted his record. It’s sad that there are people out there so obsessed with keeping the Romney v.2 decption alive that they can’t even see humor for what it is. Admittedly, some of Huckabee’s jokes are silly, but come on, no candidate in his right mind is going to seriously encorage anyone to break the law.
Personally, I think the real story about Spunky is that she is probably a Ron Paul supporter who has put her tin foil hat in the closet long enough to pose as a Romney apologist.
NeoLibs like Spunky also seem to buy into the gag that a Huckabee staffer actually was stupid enough to trash Limbaugh. I’m all for a “flush Rush” campaign, but not because of his comments about Huckabee. I’ve done politics and I know anyone who’s been in a campaign for more than 10 minutes knows you don’t mess with people who buy paper on 5 ton rolls and ink in 55 gallon drums... Limbaugh is the radio equivilent. It is no accident that he “believes” the claims that Huckabee’s campaign dissed him.
The more he rants about Huckabee and trumpets Romney’s talking points, the more absurd Rush looks. He has a reputation for saying the most rediculous things as part of his communication technique of “illustrating absurdity by being absurd”. I wouldn’t be surprised to hear Rush get the last laugh by admitting he didn’t believe for a minute that a Huckabee staffer was behind the slight. That won’t change his support for Romney, but he’s an honest player and when the time is right, he’ll let his audience know what’s really going on.
Bottom line: Ignore posers like Spunky and enjoy Rush for what he is: a brilliant commentator who is himself smart enough to know the “anti-Rush” stuff was probably planted in the name of the Huckabee campaign by someone else. He originally speculated it was McCain’s campaign, but after the past month, I’m convinced it was some third rate blogger posing as a Huckabee supporter... who belches out Romney talking points everywhere else.
Now for the shocker: Could it be that the “unidentified blogger” who told the Atlantic all those crazy things posing as a Huckabee staffer also has a homeschool blog elsewhere on the Web? We’ll never know. The Atlantic isn’t going to reveal their sources and the unidentified libelogger isn’t going to reveal himself as long as the story still has traction.

Got it. I also just googled it. Thanks.
The 80’s was a long time ago! Were you even born yet?
Reagan was EXACTLY the man we needed at that time, but I couldn’t stand the guy. I was a democrat. Once I started paying attention to what was really going on, I jumped the democrat ship lolly-pop!
Those who “assume” without getting the facts straight are blind fools!
So, listen, Huckster! Extol your candidate from the rooftops until the cows come home! You have every right to do that.
When you have to beat up a talk show host (or anybody else) who doesn’t see it quite YOUR WAY, YOU are the loser!
Most likely, so is the candidate you’re trying to push up!
Did you think this kind of garbage would actually turn folks your way?
Au Contra ire.
It’s so unbelievably Clinton-esque, I’m hearing spooky music.
It does smell like ozone in here to me.
Since he is not a member yet, can we ignore him...
Or is he a “Pre-member” so this is a “pre post”...
