POLK COUNTY, Fla. -- A Central Florida man was beaten to death over the weekend with an umbrella, according to authorities.
Polk County sheriff's deputies said Richard Oaks, who owns a lounge in Lakeland, Fla., became involved in a fight with his friend, Alan Pierce, late Saturday.
Pierce was hospitalized after the incident, officers said.
After the alleged attack, Pierce's 17-year-old daughter apparently sought revenge and gathered her friends together, including Charles Bonfiglio, 21, and his brother, Corey, deputies said.
The group drove to Oaks' home and beat him to death, a sheriff's report said.
The Bonfiglio brothers and another man are facing first-degree murder charges in connection with the incident, Local 6 News reported.
The 17-year-old girl is charged with accessory to burglary.

Ban assault umbrellas! Register umbrellas over 26” in overall length, or over 18” in canopy radius. For the children. Make possession a felony, unless a $200 transfer tax is paid.

In all fairness, how will they get the murder one to stick with only an umbrella for a weapon?
In 1991, the artist Christo installed 1,760 yellow umbrellas north of Los Angeles, California. The installation was taken down early when a freak storm blew a few of the umbrellas over. One of those 500-pound umbrellas killed 33-year-old Lori Rae Mathews instantly when the umbrella crushed her against some rocks.
