Me too, kitten! I was sooo looking forward to seeing Amanda when my girls make me take them to the AI tour concert.
Unless these folks step it up in the next few weeks, it's gonna be a real snoozer of a tour.
Aw, phooey. I like Amanda. Her farewell song wasn’t that great, but I am astounded any of them can sing anything after just hearing “sorry, you’re toast.”
Thought she was a breath of fresh air. She should have mixed it up with a ballad, though. (Anyone remember Janis Joplin’s “Summertime”? Yeah.)
Oh, well. Maybe she’ll get an album out anyway. I’d buy it. I’d go see her sing in a bar, too. :)
Ramkin and Kristy Lee Legs are the next to go, mark my words. Kristy can’t learn to be interesting in a mere week or two, and Ramkin just seems to be lost. She’s a cute little thing, but she doesn’t seem to have a clue what she’s doing in this competition.
And then we can get rid of more dead weight like Michael Johns (who HAS NO TOP NOTES, has anyone noticed that???).

No, everyone wasn't singing. With the exception of her 5-second "feature", Amanda didn't sing a note, and barely even tried to lip sync.
For the same reason she got voted off: she can't sing.
No, she couldn't. That was the whole point. She has no sense of pitch whatsoever -- if she's not shouting into the mic, she's got nothing.

Sorry to hear your girl got voted off Jonny. If I were you, I’d buy a Janis Joplin and a Yoko Ono album and play them at the same time.....it will sound just like Amanda. Enjoy! :)
You’re too much! LOL! Perfect description of the noise coming out of Amanda’s voice box—what she has left of it anyway. Poor girl—she will be lucky to have a voice at all within a few years. It has even affected her speaking voice. She sounds like someone who has been an extremely heavy smoker for 50 years.

Agreed, Amanda had more problems than just being a one trick "Janis Joplin" pony. When one as Amanda did has to resort to tricks such as the hair to be noticed, one knows that one is unable to compete at that level.
As Simon likes to say to the contestants, "can you imagine wanting to buy a record of you singing the song that you just sang"? In Amanda's case I can't think of a single song that she has done on Idol that I would buy. On the other hand I have already downloaded from I-Tunes several songs from the other competitors.
