Zabasearach and Dial Idol both have Kristy as the lowest vote getter last night. Kristy Lee Cook received the fewest phone and text votes after the March 18 performance.

Nice call on Brooke hoping for Tori Amos week. Though not in her league (very few are) their voices are quite similar.

AMERICAN IDOL THOUGHTS:

Ugh!!! More Beatles tunes....thank God I DVR'd it and was able to forward through all the "filler".  Again, most of the contestants chose boring, mediocre songs that made me fast forward through them and not want to listen to them.

So here are my thoughts on the top 11:

Amanda Overmeyer - Back In The U.S.S.R.

This song needs to be taken back to the USSR....damn I hate that song!!   But again, I thought Amanda rocked it out, actually.  And I'd still pay to see her more so than any other contestant right now.  I love the hair style she wore last night...I think it suits her best. In my Top 3

Kristy Lee Cook - You’ve Got To Hide Your Love Away

They need to hide HER away.  I really am bored with her and Simon was right, she is a boring performer.  Yes, she can sing...but she's not knocking my socks off, that's for sure.  And if she could, she should be doing so, EVERY performance and not just braggin' about it.  Please vote her off this week - In my bottom 2.

David Archuleta - Long and Winding Road

Ugh...something tells me it's going to be a long and winding road until we see the end of him.  And I've grown tired of his "who me?" act.  Not only that, but what annoys me most, is when he sings, EVERY time he stops and takes in a breath, he licks his lips and it's SO bothersome I can't stand to watch him.  Each song he picks is boring and although he can sing....he needs to pick it up a bit and do something up beat for a change.  Talk about predictable....enough with the ballads already!

Michael Johns - A Day in the Life

Finally, a song in his life that was actually good.  I totally disagreed with all 3 judges here and I liked his performance and rendition of the song.  He is really reminding me of Michael Hutchins on this one.

David Cook - Day Tripper

Trippy performance with his vox box...I have to say he's starting to grow on me.  I still can't stand his looks and his smugness, but I do l like how he did this song.  It was danceable and had a catchy beat.  But I agree with Simon, he is starting to be a bit predictable and except for the last 2 songs, he sounds just like all the other artists out there today...In my Top 3

Brooke White - Here Comes the Sun

Here comes another predictable performance.  Her "innocent act" is buggin me though.  She had a good voice, but I don't know "dawg", there just is something about her, that kinda bugs me and her songs all sound the same....maybe that's it, I dunno.

Carly Smithson - Blackbird

I love this song...but the temp was done too fast and it totally ruined the song for me.  I also don't see the "hoopla" of her performance of this song.  I agree with Simon here...again, not a good song choice.  Maybe if she had sung it the way Sarah McLachlan had, and at the correct tempo it would have been as intended...I just don't think it was that good as is.  And then I hated that she played the "I've been beaten down" card, and explained that that's why she chose that song...puhleeze...she couldn't be more pimped on this show!!  I'm glad Simon didn't find her appealing tonight.

Jason Castro - Michelle

Michelle, ma belle...man I love this song, and it's so easy to sing along to....but it was too easy and safe for him, so it was a bad song choice.  He sang it well, but it wasn't anything special.

Syesha Mercado - Yesterday

Yesterday, I was hoping they wouldn't be doing these annoying "Beatles" songs....but no...they gotta take these songs and make them even MORE boring.  I didn't like it and I thought she over sang it and the song was very mediocre.

Chikezie Eze - I’ve Just Seen A Face

I've just seen him do another great performance.  At first I was "not likin' it"...but then he rocked it up and pulled out his harmonica and it was really good.   Screw the judges....I liked it.  In my Top 3

Ramiele Mulabay - I Should Have Known Better

I should have known better, than to think she'd do better than anyone else, except Kristy Lee.  She showed us she can really sing well, but hasn't in the last 3 or 4 performances.  I'm really getting bored with her and her song choices.  She needs to step it up and really "perform" or she's gonna be voted off. In my bottom 2.

Best Line of the Night:   Simon: Now I feel really uncomfortable. I think you're all broken birds now.

With Paul McCartney having to shell out big bucks (er, Pounds), to get rid of Heather, this opened up a huge plus for Beatles fans everywhere. Paul has agreed, (finally), to allow the ENTIRE catalog of Beatles songs to be released on iTunes starting in a few months. The deal between Apple Computer and Apple Records will help Paul meet his financial obligations to Heather.

Great recap! I didn’t get to pay as much attention to the first half of the show as I normally would have, but from what I saw I pretty much agree with you.

No, he hated it. He has a pathological hatred of harmonicas.

SAVE SHANNON!!!

I don’t think she’ll go this week - could be close with Monica.

For some reason, the BPs never last long on DWTS.

I was just thinking she could use the therapy... ;)

She's my honey and all, but she's got issues.

Each song he (monchichi) picks is boring and although he can sing....he needs to pick it up a bit and do something up beat for a change.

Daddy won't let him. Can't you see he's ready to rawk? He wants to so bad - he can taste it.

Either that, or he wants to go on a date - with someone besides Daddy...

This article about Simon appeared in this morning’s paper. I don’t know if it has been posted here, but I’m not going to go through 11,000 posts to find out...;-)
