Neighbors Worried About Marine Manhunt
Action News has learned new information about the Marine charged with first degree murder in the death of a fellow Marine.
The woman murdered was 8 months pregnant.
Authorities are on the hunt for Lance Corporal Cesar Armando Laurean. He graduated from Palo Verde High School in 2005.
His parents live in Las Vegas, and today Action News had a chance to get some reactions from neighbors.
Mike Clancey cannot believe the Marine on the run hits so close to home. He is neighbors with the parents of Laurean.
The 21 year old attended Palo Verde High all four years.
And just like any other high school student, was involved in activities like ROTC.
Clancey says he does not know Laurean's parents, but worries the suspect may return home and cause trouble.
"The guy is on the run for a reason, just hope he doesn't do anything else crazy."
Authorities have been looking for the Marine since he left Camp Lejeune, North Carolina on Friday.
On Saturday, investigators discovered the charred remains of a woman and unborn baby in the suspect's backyard.
They believe it is missing Marine Corporal Maria Lauterbach.
In the last couple of days, witnesses claim they have spotted Laurean at a bus stop in Louisiana and his truck back in North Carolina.
Today Lauterbach's missing debit card was found at a bus station in Durham, North Carolina.
Authorities say Lauterbach worked with Laurean at Camp Lejeune.
She went missing in December, just days after meeting with Marine prosecutors to talk about allegations Laurean had raped her .
The victim's family says they believe the father of the child was Laurean.
