WOW! If this report is true this thing is starting to make sense (if you can call it that) Sounds like something might have gone wrong in the process & both mother & child were disposed of. The evidence will tell. Looks like this might end up being even more sick & twisted than we thought.

I’m not sure what the sheriff was alluding to, except that everything surrounding this case is bizarre. I’m assuming the NCIC# is a North Carolina identification number from a driver’s license, maybe? The nationality and place of birth is unknown. How do you not know “place of birth” in the Marine Corps? Don’t you need a birth certificate? Also, where did Laurean use the aliases that the FBI notes?

I know that I heard something the other day about him being Mexican, but I didn’t want to go down that route until I was certain. Laurean doesn’t sound like a Mexican name to me, but what do I know? I wonder if he could have changed his name for some reason? I’m still highly curious about his family, and their not speaking out. Why would a parent not appeal to a child on American tv? Is it because they don’t want to be seen? Are they illegals?

Forgive me Lord, but I am just speculating.

Who knows? It doesn’t seem the baby was physically seperated from the mother’s body based on the reports, though.

That’s what I’ve been wondering about. Maybe an artery on the baby was nicked or something. There would be no need to finish the delivery if that happened. Have they said if there was any indication of an attempted C-section on her?

Did you notice the aliases the FBI pointed out? Cesar Gudino and Cesar Sanchez. Where did he use these aliases? Why doesn't the FBI know his place of birth? I would think the Marine Corps would require this type of information with a birth certificate. The NCIC number I think refers to a National Crime Information Center number for Federal investigations. see here

I would *think* that the Marines, the FBI and everyone with the need to know are aware of this. Maybe Cesar had a record in Mexico? Maybe he used aliases there? Maybe the authorities don’t want this info to be made public just yet so as not to tip off Laurean? I just hope he’s taken down but brought in alive.

LOL. On the same track with the link. From this abcnews link over the weekend Marine on the Lam Spotted in Louisiana, seems nobody took this very seriously until the family pushed some buttons. I doubt it would have changed the outcome for Maria, but they'd probably have their suspect if they'd been a little more curious.

...Her uncle Peter Steiner said Saturday on "Good Morning America Weekend Edition" that his niece "was being harassed by the general environment [at Camp LeJeune] to drop the case, which she did a week before her disappearance." ..

Steiner claimed that until Monday, "nothing was being done by the local authorities or the Marines."

"They [the Sheriff's office] said that flyovers were occurring and that they had evidence that she was coming back... but we came to find out that absolutely nothing was happening," he said.

Steiner also dismissed the idea that the investigation had been delayed because of court documents stating that her mother described Lauterbach as having a history of lying.

"She was not a compulsive liar, Maria. She was a person that when pressed tended to exaggerate," he said.

Steiner said it was never his sister's intention to make her sound like a bad person, but more importantly those comments were made on Monday after weeks of delay had already passed. ...
