January 11, 2008)--Authorities in North Carolina said late Friday morning pregnant Marine Lance Cpl. Maria Lauterbach is dead.
They said she’s buried in a shallow grave, for which investigators are now searching.
They identified the suspect in the case as a Marine officer whom she accused of sexually assaulting her.
Police earlier were planning to interview a man who lived with her and said he would answer questions that "will shed a lot of light on the case."
Authorities said again Friday Marine Sgt. Daniel Durham isn't a suspect, but police believe he's the last person to speak with the Marine.
She disappeared Dec. 14 ahead of her expected testimony in a military investigation into her claim a senior officer had sexually assaulted her.
Court documents show the investigation went sour amid inconsistencies in the woman's story and allegations that she's bipolar and a compulsive liar.
Search warrants show she was facing a possible discharge from the service.
Lauterbach was eight months pregnant when she disappeared.
What is on the big cart that the other guy has? It looks heavy and rectangular. Charcoal?? For the big BBQ?

There are hundreds of different styles of Marine Corps sweatshirts so it could be a USMC sweatshirt. It doesn’t look like the green PT style though IMO. I hope tomorrow that will be more obvious.

What a dummy he is. Hasn’t he ever heard of cameras before? Her mother reported her missing a week before that....this should have been reported to her bank. He’s got big bold brass ones to think that he could get away with this. Geesh!
It was said they were cinder block...look at the pics of the PIT, lined with cinder block. And the other guy was with him according to all news reports on the video.

On the America’s Most Wanted website they are showing the video but there is no audio. And note that that guy’s face is blurred out as they are exiting Lowe’s. Maybe they will say tomorrow during the segment???
Haven’t heard anything on who he might be. But continued looking at the video, almost looks as if they popped a fuzzy blur over his face.
Could it be he was using atm to throw off her family that she was still alive and hiding out in Jacksonville? Just a thought.
debm thinks that he was trying to hide his face too. Or, maybe AMW did that because the other guy isn’t a suspect yet, or is cooperating with LE? More than one involved in this is too many. Someone will tell the truth, I hope.
I don’t think he was trying to hide his face. It looks like AMW blurred it out. They have to be scrambling to figure out who it was. I wonder who his close friends were here in Jacksonville.......
Maybe one of the witness at his wedding.
