I'm just interested to know if there's clear guidance anywhere on FR as to what can and can't be posted. I've just had an entire thread pulled which consisted of an article by one of Australia's best known journalists in one of Australia's largest mainstream newspapers referencing a US political situation (I'm avoiding mentioning what it is, because the thread was pulled and I respect there may be good reasons for that - the topic was a confronting one). It's the first time that's happened to me though in three and half years on FR, so I just want to review the rules, so to speak, and looking around I can't easily see anything that the post seems to me to have violated.
I just had a thread get locked too, and it’s the first time for me:

It’s not a dupe as I did a search.
Maybe the software is malfunctioning right now.
Not sure.
Oh, and the error was this...
http://www.freerepublic.com/perl/admin/abuse?id=1949966
Not sure what that means. I don’t know what 1949966 signifies.
OMG, that’s a ‘sandal-toe’ ;-)
That’s a nice warm looking rug.
It's a SHAG, baby....
Your previous posts look quite reasonable, and I assume you checked that you weren’t a duplicate post. Since we were not able to read it, we have no idea what the issue was, if any....
I think the Free Republic policy regarding Rudy lovers should be like the miliary policy towards homosexuals - "Don't ask, don't tell."
I think the problem with your thread was that it discussed the assassination of a Democratic Presidential candidate. Even though the article was written by a leftist loon and was completely absurd, those post tend to be taken out of context and used against us by the left.
BTW, no demerits to the poster or anything like that.
Fair enough - I just wanted to know so I can steer clear of it in the future.
I too would like to know what sources we can’t post articles from, or which we can only post excerpts from. Is there a file or list someplace which we posters can use?
Thank you for that link to the thread with that list.
At least it is a start.
It would be nice to have a *current* updated list.
