January 7, 2008, Monday, TIPPLE

In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “word for the day”. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the “word of the day”; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. Practice makes perfect.....post on....

Subbie Slip has her whip, handcuffs and legcuffs today. Tomorrow I’m bringing in chains, so beware.

The rest of the stuff is locked up in the janitor’s closet for safekeeping. No one knew my secret, but there it is. I’m just letting all the new students know that we behave as if we were ladies and gentlemen in here. Those two words “as if” can get you an A to A++++ or a quadruple minus F, depending on my mood. .

Good Morning Class. Welcome to School! Yes, we’re all here. No lumpen today.

RULES: You must know how to read and write. Comprension only counts as a portion of your grade.

I'm sorry if I didn't get all of the new students. I didn't keep track of all y'alls.

Excellent pome! Chicken picatta, huh? I’d best get to the store or hubby will be eating peanut butter toast for dinner. (sigh)

" But what the heck does "bib" mean. I couldn't find it."

When you go to dinner, you're supposed to put on your finest "bib" so the tucker doesn't stain your shirt. Your best bib and tucker.

This only applies to the more refined eating establishments. Down at "The Trough and Brew" they don't much care.

I just saw the rerun of her crocodile tears. She’s just wanted to do the things for the world which hasn’t been able to do before.

Told Cyber it reminded me of Bill when he was laughing at a walk to someone’s funeral and was laughing. Then he saw the camera and tears ran down his cheecks.

Oh, I can’t stand them.

Did you find any shoes, my dear? I got another catalogue from somewhere, and I think I’m getting some patent leather Mary Jane’s. LOL! What a hoot. Does that require me wearing nylons? Or can I go with bobby socks?

I think you’ve got a song there: Ft. Marcy Park, kind of like MacArthur Park.

I have in this computer somewhere all of the used Pittsburghian lingo, so I can understand the language.

You’re so welcome! They don’t stay that young very long. Glad you got to play.

I do wish xsteen was here last night whilst I was preparing to post today. Danged Vista has changed everything. I went into my folder, it’s called WFTD Words, and the computer was asking me too many questions.

I just did it by hand by the stuff I have on my profile page.

She needs a lot of these if she thinks she's going to be POTUS. It will just feel normal to Bill.

Let me see if I have this correct, sig. You know I get confused easily.

You are going to see a bar manager who is also a firearms director and tipple a few tipples? Something doesn’t seem right about bars, firearms director and tippling. I could be wrong.

After (not before) shooting skeet, I would tipple a few beers. But it has to be after. LOL!

Oh, A++++ for you!

Not a chance. People were cheering her today when she walked in to a school. Then they sort of scooted out or fell asleep whilst she was speaking.

She’s got way too much baggage, and I’m not talking about her crusty black suit.

ROTFLMAO! Thank you. Now who is the tucker? Someone who tucks in your bib like a mother or father?

A++++ for you, NnB!

I wanted you to be the first to know about Cyber’s and my trade.

I hate this Vista. Hate it, hate it and more hate for it. I want my old 98 back. The laptop cramps my fingers, so I can’t use that.

So Cyber is going to trade me his XP computer, which I understand, and he’s going to teach me how to make a website. He hates teaching as much as I hate Vista, so it’s pretty fair and square. We just have to wait until his company puts Vista on their something or other so he can work at home with it. Shouldn’t be long.

He cannot have my oversized screen, though. That was not part of the deal. Just the CPU. I have a feeling, though, that he’ll get that, too. LOL!

Election results cause a ripple,
That’s making me tipple,
Better make that a triple,
I’m an emotional cripple.

There! I’m officially a poet.

Thank you, SG. I had forgotten whose funeral it was. Too bad it wasn’t Hillary’s.
