The two brothers injured in the Christmas Day tiger attack at the San Francisco Zoo have refused to let police examine photos on their cell phones that authorities believe were taken the day they were mauled and their friend was killed.

"We also understand that police officers requested permission from your clients to examine any images and other contents of the cell phone. Your clients refused to cooperate with this request; consequently, no one has yet examined this potentially critical evidence."

Tigers had gotten over the moat several times over the last few decades.
This time it was fatal.
Zoo: “Our wall is 20 feet tall... OK, it is 16 feet tall... OK, in reality it is only 12.5 feet tall, four feet below recommendations. Oh well. Move on. Nothing to see here.”
Just a side note here. There are no Muslims in India???
Sorry that made me chuckle.
It shall be interesting as to how this story unfolds.
Don’t like animals much do you? Yet on another thread you claimed you grew up on a farm...So its ok to taunt animals hmmm?
... And for 50 years of no one got through airport securtity with a weapon that could bring down a 747. Therefore we must have have very good airport security on 9/11. [/sarc]
The point is that the zoo’s walls were below recommendations and below the height that the zoo stated in its safety records. We know the wall was too low because the cat got out.
The zoo should have protected both the animals & the people. I don’t quite understand the lack of video cameras or the fact that there weren’t guards moving the people out as it was closing down. So the zoo is at fault, I’ve never said it wasn’t. As a matter of fact I’ve posted it shouldn’t even be open until EVERY ANIMAL is secure . I think it needs to be looked into & fixed asap, not open again.
Mom and Dad used to take me to the St Louis Zoo every summer when I was a youngun. One of the monkeys there used to get agitated easily. It was as though he just got sick and tired of people looking at him. He’d hang on the side of the cage and pee on anybody standing close, screaming the whole time.
Nite!!!
It will be interesting to see how the story ends.
Tigers walk the moat daily. They have never got out of the pit before, except as per post 174, which involved a much larger male tiger. That tiger never left the fenced area.
Good point. Maybe a last ditch fuzzy photo of while he was running?
Was his name Barry?
I like monkeys but I’ve seen them get mean. We were doing a drive through animal park once & one was ripping at a car. Trying to do as much damage as it could. Plus they throw stuff at you. lmao. I like your other monkey story with the ice. lmao ~Pandy~
JMO but I think some of the wall report confusion may have been how they were measuring. It’s probably higher in some areas and lower in others. Lower and higher ground affects to. Maybe some were measuring at the moat. Of course they wanted it to be as high as possible but I can see getting different reports. One could say 16 feet and everyone could go whew and another said “wait I got 14......
lol.
Agreed. But we all know now that it was too low.
A clear case of monkey taunting, you should have called the police.
I sometimes wonder if they think they are on the other side of the fence and that we are the ones on exhibit:’)
You are the friendly type I see.
Have many friends?
Sheesh.
