Well, weather seems to have settled down. We got a bit of non-sticking snow that was mostly rain. The dafodils are up and look great for the time being. Lost a lot of buds off the chanticlar pear.
Mrsnad, glad to hear thegirl wasn’t hurt too bad. That was a close call. Hope she was wearing her helmet.
G’nad - how’s the newtractor? Tell theboy good luck on getting his turkey. hmmm. turkey..
I spent time shoveling the rest of the gravel for the foundation posts from the pile into buckets, and concrete from the bags into smaller containers. We already had some sand that we had taken from the trailer and put into a container It will be easier to weigh out the ingredients from the smaller containers.
It's fun mixing the concrete in the little 3 cu. ft. mixer, but we've found that a 2 cu. ft. amount is easier to manage. The posts hold about 2-3/4 cu. ft., so we have to do it in 2 batches, but having everything already measured out makes a big difference. SirKit created a spreadsheet for how much of each ingredient to use for different sized batches, so I can just follow the recipe when he tells me how much he needs. He rigged up a water meter on the hose, so I can keep track of how much water I've put in to make sure I don't get it too wet, and without having to guess how much I've put in each time. Makes it really easy for me to do the grunt work, so he can do the smart work. ;o)
I think we need to right-off youth season... still sleetin’ and snowin’... no accumulation yet... s’posed tuh freeze the next two nights...
osage, thenewtractor is awesome... just got done pushing brush, limbs, and logs fer about an hour and a half... handles like a dream, and I’ve done more werk with the loader in the past week that I’ve been puttin’ off fer years fer lack of one...
