like the time when I tried tuh go in a certain National Monument while packin’... glad the security had a sense of humor and a healthy respect fer jarheads...

Sorta reminds me of the time we were visiting the White House. Security kept checkin’ Papa and having something show up. Pulled him out of the line with the want, etc.
About 10 minutes later, he said (with a grin no less) “did I tell you about my pacemaker?”
Fortunately, it was pre-9/11.

Actually I didn't. I hasn't come up before since I rarely get to drive on bases anymore. So I just need to bring a lockable case and maybe jot the s/n some place so I don't have to read it off the piece. Anything else I should know?
