We have several, but I'd never consider digging holes for the deck foundations with them! We got Gimli several years back for earth moving, and he's proved invaluable in the digging of the holes for the footings for the deck. We're required by code to go down below the frost line, and in some cases, that made the holes at least 5' deep and since SirKit wanted to get a strong footing, he had Paul dig them, with Gimli, about 2-1/2' wide and 5' long. They look like several graves dug in the back yard. ;o) The only shovel work they had to do was to level out the bottoms of them to get the re-bar in position and pour the concrete. We got all the footings poured before the winter came, and one post done.
We're hoping for several days of mild weather in the next two weeks so we can get the rest of the posts poured because Paul and a couple of his friends are coming over on April 5th to help us start on the deck. It would be great to be ready for them to start the structure, which they could probably finish in two days with all those hands ready for work; at least the lower deck in back of the garage. But that one's important, because that's where the hot tub is going, directly onto the structure. Then we could lay the decking around it with no trouble.
You know, y’all are doin’ so much work to that house that you’re not gonna want to move...
I wisht I had a hot tub...man, this metoprolol makes me feel like crap. Like I’ve tessered through the Black Thing.
I’m half way off it, though! When I went to the nephrologist, I was on 100mg twice a day and I’m down to 50mg twice a day (with his approval). I’ve been literally breaking the little pills into fourths and decreasing it 12.5mg every three days. So far, my BP has remained at the same levels it’s been at.
I knew it never did any good. But if I come off of it abruptly, it can cause cardiac problems. So slowly and steadily...I’m decreasing the dose. Maybe I won’t feel like I’m frozen solid all the time.
