A story that ~sadly~ must be shared:
Last night Jr. went over to a friend’s house to watch the football game. Not long after he left, he calls me and says “I lost my key.”
He’s only got one key to the Honda in spite of the fact that I’ve told him to get another made.
I said “where are you?”
“Josh’s house.”
“Then the key is there with you. Get a flashlight and find it.”
Apparently he did because he came home. But honestly, how much does it take to figure that out on your own?
Wife said, “He needs you and turns to you when there’s a crisis.”
I said, “I’m tired of being needed.”
Either that or he learned how to hotwire a car last night.
Either way... he’s learning valuable life skills :~)
You should take him to a seaside bar and let someone shanghai him for a year or two. I bet that would help.
you’ll stop being needed when you’ve been forgotten...
if’n he needs a dose of reality and life skills, send him out here fer a few months...
Ha! That’s what I tell the boys...like if they can’t find their shoes. I say “Well, I don’t believe they jumped up and ran off down the street by themselves!”
Speaking of running...Joshua’s gift from Steve and I this year was a pair of running shoes. He ran up and down the street from the CDTS to the house...did it several times.
He’s a runner...you can see it in his stride. It comes natural.
Matthew’s gift from us was a new adult sized bike. He rode along side.
