It's a top-loader, the input "tray" is on the back (it's not shown in that Buy.com picture). The manual says it holds 100 sheets of plain paper, although the output tray only has room for 50 sheets, it says. We paid $89.99 (shipped) when we bought it, and it wasn't the cheapest one out there even. I was surprised to see the current price on Buy.com, since that's where we bought it from... I guess we got it at just the right time.

They’ve come down a lot in price.

I have not had good luck with top loaders... I think they’re OK for occasional printing when you can babysit it, but if you go through a lot of paper and want to leave it unattended to receive faxes for the weekend... they jam a lot.
