The Hobbit Hole XXXV - ...is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

Posted on 01/03/2008 6:35:58 PM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Good morning... Hey if you want to get Cisco out of your hair... you can bring him over here sometime this morning before the plumbing event... just put him in the gate.

Mornin’

It’s the first Saturday since last August that I haven’t had somewhere to go or had a specific agenda item. Today is just laundry and yard work, and we’ll always have those.

Currently, “sittin’ on my arse” seems to be winning.

~sip~

I mean it though...you look good, g’nad. Healthy. God is good

He is... though I feel like frap in the mornings and evenings, I feel tolerable about mid-day... I can still eat, but only certain things appeal... kim-chee always sounds good fer some reason, the thought of bland food makes me wanna hurl...

I've only lost 5 lbs, so I'm a li'l disappointed with muh Jenny Craig program... I chalk it up to bein' able to eat even when I don't feel like it, or if'n it sounds awful to me... traits that served me well in the Corps...

a great nurse is a gift of God... and that, you are 2J...

Here too... so far... though we have gotten all the critters fed.

Today is another day of rain, then tomorrow is supposed to be better. So we just have to kind of batten down today and count on tomorrow being the day we do something fun and/or active outside. Supposedly after Monday we might actually dry out for more than two days in a row... seems like a dream.

You know when I went through radiation they gave me drugs for the nausea. I came home after the first treatment, took the pill and threw up everything I'd eaten for the last 20 years...or so.

Found out it was better to take the pill before treatment. But I also found out (at my cousin's advice, who'd had similar situation), that I was less nauseous if I always had something on my stomach. I ended up not losing any weight at all.

It’s clear and not-too-coldish outside right now. Rain comes tomorrow.

But, I’ve got a four day weekend coming up next week. The leaves will still be there.

We had to replace the motor in the dispenser. It was making ice okay, but not dispensing through the door. And of course the warranty had expired.

I didn’t have chemo, just the radiation. As horrible as it was, I still know I was very fortunate.

Look Out - It’s Spider Pig..

Lest the others think the twobaldguys moot was just twobaldguys jawing. There were many and varied cultural events going on StL when we there. Art museums, gallery openings, dramatic readings, the ballet, Wash U and StL U plays and lectures...

Still for all that culture we still found time to...

Football - Way to go LSU.
The Simpson’s Movie
The 300
The Kingdom
Team America
Dexter - Season 1
