Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
Did I already tell you I have 35 meat birds coming May 15th? So, I need to get busy building something to house them in.
I've started a book called the Maker's Diet...have you heard of it? Also a book you would enjoy the Encyclopedia of Country Living.
Tonight we watched Lagaan. The kids loved it...an Indian musical...a Bollywood production.
Next week, I'm taking the kids home to my parents for a few days, and then we're all going to Adventure Land. Leaving my man here...hoping he can stay out of trouble. He's got Chemo tomorrow, and then he's done till next time.
Been crazybusy here putting in thegarden, school, and life in general. I'm sure I've missed a lot of mini dramas.
A Latin curriculum...discuss...

IEEEEEEE!!! ~runs screaming from the room~
(I used to work for that company. 'Nuff said.)
Ok then...you wouldn’t recommend it... would it make you feel better to know that I didn’t buy the book and am just borrowing it from a friend? :-)
Mrsnad
So...any sign of her?
Works for me. :)
No sign of her yet. I guess we could call it in... then we’d still have 45 minutes. A ticking clock! You want to call it in?
It’s probably easier if we do it from your phone, since they have the address and all from there. I could come over with my card and leave the brat here for now. Unless you just want to wait until tomorrow or another day for pizza...then we could just each grab something and watch LOST in half an hour or so.
Well, I don’t know... I just wish she’d come in!
If you ~want~ to go ahead and call them, they ask for the phone number... just give them our number and it will pop up with our history and address.
Neither of our kids was interested in Latin, so I never did it with them. If we'd started homeschooling in Elementary school, I might have tried it. But Clare wanted to learn Japanese, so she did that. Joseph had Spanish at St. Johns in the 9th and 10th grades, so that was all the Foreign Language he wanted to bother with.
Clare's college requires Latin 1 and 2 in the first year, so she took it, and ended up liking it a lot; go fig!
A description of how it was used in spoiler font below...
It's some kind of collapsible baton. He showed it (collapsed) to the man in front of him (Corin's first pic) then activated it as he swept his arm back to strike (and take out) the man behind him.
Very smoothly done, actually... ol' Ben's had hand-to-hand combat training, methinks.
Hmm. missed that. I will watch more carefully next week. Thanks.
We decided to put off LOST so keep doing your spoiler fonts :~)
Well, it probably wouldn’t be the end of the world if we got spoilers... but... ;~)
So Bear.. I decided you should audition to play Beorn in The Hobbit. Unless of course PJ does it as a cameo.
Hmmmm...I didn’t see all of that...
My four years of hight school Latin was the single best investment I ever made. It helped greatly with my English vocabulary, although I mainly rely on it now to ace crossword puzzles.
Morning ALL, dang, 36 degrees, thought this was spring, we had a bit of it earlier this week.
At least the bunnies look cold...
