Insert Happy Birthday GIF here.

Glad you all had a good day, hope the casinos treated you well. Asps?!? The snake kind? The weaponry kind?

Vacuum sealers are as much fun as dymo label makers. Enjoy.

Didn’t get as much done as planned, but what the hey...

Got some branches up, raked up some more leaves. Then it was cookout time and it got lazier from there.

It's what a lot of cops are using now, it's a collapsible baton. :~)

They’re coming around almost once a week now. If this keeps up, weekends will be endangered!!!!!!!!

They are the nifty new ~airweight~ model.

I carried the same old steel one since I was issued one in the CG. But there’s been some great improvements over the years. Lately I’ve gotten a new one, the airweight with the rubberized handle.

The airweight is all aluminum, except for the last center rod which is steel. It makes it remarkably light, which was a real pain in the old ones. They were heavy and no fun to carry in a pocket.

These new ones, especially the little 16” number... have almost no weight to them and easily slip in a pocket with your keys. But they still zip out in a second and with that tip-heavy feel it’ll still snap a bone easily. Or disable an elbow, or render hand bones incapable of holding a knife... Stuff like that.

You know... happy things. :-)

Need advice from cat-lovers. This beautiful grey cat that's be hanging around has rid us of the mice and voles in the woodpile. He's an office cat but come the weekends, he's thrown out and left to fend for himself. If they put out cat food for the weekend the opossums will get it before the first night is over.

So anyway, he was pretty hungry last night since he'd eaten all our mice, so I fed him. He didn't leave and was there when I put Gypsy out for her evening constitutional. I put a blanket out there for him to sleep on, and darn if he wasn't there this morning.

My question is, if I use this blanket and let the grey cat sleep on it, then bring it in for Annie to sleep on, will they get use to each other's scent? I can put grey cat in the basement during inclement weather if his office staff doesn't, but they both have their claws and I can see a battle royale if they meet without proper introductions. Grey cat is a neutered male, and Annie is spayed, if that helps.

Can’t hurt LSAggie! I’ve had mixed success introducing adult cats to each other, sometimes it’s been no big deal, it really depends on the personalities involved!

The grey cat is a very lovable, mellow cat. My Annie, on the other hand, has been spoiled since, well, forever. She was dumped at the vet’s when she was a tiny kitten, and the vet tech’s fed her and raised her and carried her around in their pockets, you know the drill.

Louise was such a mellow cat that as long as her food supply was not interrupted she was pretty cool with other cats. Annie, not so much.
