Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
It was a minute ago, wasn’t it?
Rather impressively...
Actually, I've got the day off.
I ~took~ the day off. Wife is traveling. Luke is out of school.
Morning - I’m off today, there’s only a few at werk today and most of them plan to off at noon. So..there’s that.
Are you looking outside right now?
I was getting ready for werk...what’d I miss?
You missed it? It was snowing!
Speaking of looking at things, Cisco isn’t allowed on the bed as a general rule. I think he didn’t hear me get out of the shower and all, ‘cause I just went in to get my shoes and found him on his back, on the bed, with his head on my pillow.
Doofus...
Greaaat... ;-)
I thought I saw a few flakes earlier, but thought it was my imagination. I musta missed the obvious snow.
Rawk on, Pepsi...
It snowed a few flakes when I was driving in...looks like it may clear up and be beautiful, though.
Different weather every 15 minutes around here... ;~)
Day off. Mmm. I likes them.
Nice out there now, though it’s still considering rain...
I *might* buy a car today. Ain’t ya proud of me?
It depends on whether I’m willing to accept trading in the van for less than I might be able to get in a private sale. And the fact that thenewcar is one of a handful of ‘07 Pontiac Vibes that are still on the lot. Odd that they’d be there for so long. But maybe that’s the way it goes sometimes? They’re offering it for $100 over invoice, plus 1.9% financing. From what little I know of car sales, that sounds like a good deal, but...hm. It’s also more car than I woulda picked otherwise. But I’m seriously thinking about it. The Vibe was my first choice when I started this whole shopping thing...I just didn’t think I could afford the payments on one.
It’s a cute car... had to look it up because I’m not all that familiar with them. Did you drive one?
Didn’t drive that particular one, though they offered to let me take it back to work - I chickened out. But I’ve been around ‘em before...I first became enamored of them ‘cause one of the musician types I hung out with had one and used it to haul stuff. They drive like a Corolla, pretty much. Which is to say...they aren’t *quite* as exciting to drive as they are to look at, but they’re perfectly capable. Probably a lot more fun than the van. ;-) And they sit a little higher than the typical littlecar, so you don’t feel like a sitting duck in heavy traffic.
This one has an upgraded sound system and a sunroof. Like I said, *not* what I would have picked. But with the lower interest rate, it ends up being not much more costly over the long run than the smaller cars I was looking at. And still gets decent mileage. And has a roof rack...so I could easily find a bike rack for it, though I should also be able to fit one in the back. It’s a plastic surface when the seats are folded down - easy to sweep dirt off.
Speaking of dirt...this one is black. :-\ It’s really purty when it’s cleaned up and shiny, but I imagine will be hard to keep that way. Still, it works well with the styling.
I’m sorely tempted. Especially since I’ve not had a single bite (except the kooky bite) where the van is concerned.
Do it. :~)
Is that a dare? ;-)
