It is basically an electric field. So things that can conduct electricity moving through that field are detected. And it is a very tiny flat field. So if your finger is almost but not quite touching it might still detect it. And some objects will move it and most will not. I think the newer ones are smart enough that only fingers (skin) really triggers them.
Oh, and you can set it to use taping your finger on it as a ‘click’ or turn that off. Lots of people like that but I don’t so I turn it off in the control panel. Need to get you a nice small mouse, maybe a wireless one, to carry around and use instead.

How’s your stepdad?

I just got in from work. Monday was so hard that my hands shook all day yesterday and were still shaking this morning and I dropped the bacon bits I was sprinkling on Matthew’s egg taco all over the floor.

Today was much much better. I really believe it’s the nurses I work with. The ones on Monday were hideous. I’ve had bad times with them before.

I hate co-workers that are hard to work with. It’s stupid. What do they think? Life is a Jerry Springer Show?

How’s your stepdad?

He's doing okay. The treatments are wearing him out. The whole process is taking 3 hrs. a day. But he doesn't seem to be having any additional problems from the infection.

We're supposed to go there week after next, and Luke is supposed to spend the weekend with my mom. We think it will be okay, but we haven't make a final decision.
