The Hobbit Hole XXXV - ...is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Yeah - What do you think he’ll send? ;~)
To: HairOfTheDog
Ringing... ringing... ringing... answering... connected... transmitting... did it work?
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Heh, fours.
To: RosieCotton; HairOfTheDog
It took me a minute to decide what to send.
To: HairOfTheDog; Corin Stormhands
Yeah - What do you think hell send? ;~)Well...if it was Corin, I'd be more worried. Especially if he has a flatbed scanner...

It works! So it receives and prints OK... That’s good!
Thanks a lot! I can’t be without the ability to receive faxes, so that saves us an emergency purchase first thing tomorrow.
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
I tried to send it back to you, but my machine won’t scan it.
To: HairOfTheDog
Glad it worked! Sorry it wasn't able to send back, although ours isn't really set up to receive anyway.
To: HairOfTheDog
I forget, does it have an autofeeder in addition to a flatbed? Maybe one works even though the other doesn’t?

Neither work. There’s a few ideas on some forums about taking it apart and cleaning, but we haven’t tried that yet.
Maybe it’s just coincidental to the power outage and it just decided to fail... I just hadn’t received any faxes at all since, and that was unusual.
The good news is, the all in one printers are about $400 cheaper now than when I bought this one.
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
You know... in the end, that might have been the best outcome for everyone.... ;~)
To: HairOfTheDog
FWIW, we bought
one of these when our printer died recently... uhmm, but we bought it for about $35 less than the price that it's now showing, go figure. I guess we caught it on sale.
It both printed out and then faxed the page I sent to you. I love technology! :-)

Oh gosh...owowow!
It’s what he deserved, though. ;-) But...ow.

"in the end..." *gigglesnort*
To: RosieCotton; HairOfTheDog
You know, I was actually looking for video of a commercial where that happens, but I found that one first and decided it was just as good. :-)

That’s about the price of the one we were just looking at! The one I have now does all the same stuff and it was $500 new. Where’s the paper tray on it? Does it have enough capacity to hold a lot of sheets? I get so many faxes, I need to keep it full, and I can’t use a top loader, and I don’t see the tray on yours.
To: HairOfTheDog
It's a top-loader, the input "tray" is on the back (it's not shown in that Buy.com picture). The manual says it holds 100 sheets of plain paper, although the output tray only has room for 50 sheets, it says. We paid $89.99 (shipped) when we bought it, and it wasn't the cheapest one out there even. I was surprised to see the current price on Buy.com, since that's where we bought it from... I guess we got it at just the right time.
