The Hobbit Hole XXXV - ...is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

Posted on 01/03/2008 6:35:58 PM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

...Our furnace is making squeaking sounds...

Is the smell of mouse pee was also wafting out of it or are you referring to another type of squeaking?

I think it’s a fan belt or something.... no mouse pee smell. ;~\

Ah, yeah. I was forgetting about that. So for yours it’s not rewriting as in editing...it’s rewriting in order to write.

I’m still making up my mind whether my story needs that or not. I get frustrated with lack of realism. It’s not as though I really know everything there is to know about everything I could possibly want to write about. Ain’t gonna happen. But I end up dead in the water over details that don’t matter.

Haven’t you known me long enough to know that I should never ignore ~any~ warning sounds?

It might not hurt to have it serviced.

Well that’s good...I guess. Given your track record with mice getting into places they’re not supposed to be, like the truck dashboard, I just wondered. ;o)

Oh dear...squeaking?

But yeah, if it was Corin’s furnace, this would probably be a lead-in to ‘sploding. ;-)

Someone on Craisglist wants a “baby gait”.

Sometimes misspellings crack me up...

Does that mean she’s now an acid-tripping showgirl who trains marmosets?

...let's also not forget--let's not forget, Dude--that keeping wildlife, an amphibious rodent, for uh, domestic, you know, within the city-- that isn't legal either.

I found out recently that to have a bunny in my county you have to have an agricultural zoning permit.

“No more pets, Luke. It’s illegal.”

Sometimes I love the law.

But that was a marmot.

Not that an acid-tripping showgirl would necessarily know the difference...
