The Hobbit Hole XXXV - ...is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

Posted on 01/03/2008 6:35:58 PM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

I think it’s scarier than that. I think he took his own picture...

Of course it ~could have been~ a chicken.

I wouldn’t want a roommate unless I knew them pretty well or was related to ‘em...I was kind of trying to point that out by posting some of the craziness that’s out there.

I can live with two burners. The oven bothers me more...but I’m not sure I want him just putting one in there when I don’t trust the wiring. So I guess I’m just whining.

Well, theoretically, a unit like that should be installed by an electrician... Because it’s hard wired, not just plugged in. But I know how it goes with him. Didn’t he say he could do wiring? Or was that Richard?

You only have today to whine, so get it over with... then it’s supposed to clear up and be sunny and dry for something like five days in a row. I think you owe it to yourself to cheer up if that happens. Maybe take your bike to work and go for a ride at lunch or something, and get out of this funk. :~)

You're right. I've never known a chicken who could take a picture.

Ungh. I’m happy to be home. I had this horrible nightmare all day that it was Monday and not Wednesday or Thursday. It’s not really Monday, izzit? I mean, it can’t be...

Speaking of which... we're watching from the beginning. My head is reeling over how much I missed/forgot!

Wasn’t it Richard’s dad who was the electrician, or something like that?

I’m sure currentlandlord would want to do his own wiring. And I don’t trust it. I’m too nervous about fire as it is...

Yeah - I think you’re right. It was Richard, because it had to do with that front light.

I had roommates during and after college but we all went broke, so they’re back with family and I’m here alone.

Ewwwwww....non-organic cooties in the kitchen!

I'm pretty sure everything I eat has carbon in it.

Heh, David said he’d thought about being a fishitarian, but fish is so expensive, he didn’t want to get started on that road. ;o)

That’s great, 2J. There’s a discussion going on the MA homeschool Yahoo group right now about single parents homeschooling, having to make ends meet, and one income families doing the same. It’s less expensive for younger kids, but when they get up into high school, arranging for higher level classes can be expensive.

I had intended to do that, but never got around to it. Maybe there's still time...
